PUMPING OF WATER HAD BEEN RESTORED FROM WAZIRABAD AND CHANDRAWAL PLANTS
THE AMMONIA LEVEL HAS CONSIDERABLY REDUCED DURING MORNING HOURS TODAY
WATER SUPPLY SITUATION TO IMPROVE SOON

As a result of the constant follow up by the Chief Secretary of Delhi Government with the Chief Secretary of Government of Haryana and DJB’s officials with Haryana Irrigation Departments , the ammonia level has considerably reduced during morning hours today up to the level of 1.3 mg/l and 25% pumping had been restored from both these plants.
Presently, the ammonia content has also considerably reduced up to 1.0 mg/l and 50% pumping has been restored from Wazirabad and Chandrawal plants. There will be some improvement in the water supply. As and when the ammonia level decreases upto the acceptable limit pumping will be increased in a phased manner.
In fact, raw water quality is being continuously monitored at half an hour intervals in DJB's laboratories to check the ammonia levels. The Chief Secretary, Delhi has verbally and formally has requested Chief Secretary, Haryana to resolve this issue on priority.
The affected areas are: NDMC area, North Delhi, North West Delhi, Central Delhi and parts of West and South Delhi. The localities affected are Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Civil Lines, Subhash Park, Mukherjee Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Model Town, Jahangir Puri, Wazirpur Industrial area, Punjabi Bagh, Gulabi Bagh, Hindu Rao, Jhandewalan, Motia Khan, Pahar Ganj, Karol Bagh, Old Rajinder Nagar, Naya Bazar, East & West Patel Nagar, Malka Ganj and their adjoining areas.
