Over 1500 crores has been spent on Yamuna Action Plan-1 and 2, but still we have not received any concrete results till now. However, our new plans will ensure that we, along with the Delhi Government's Delhi Jal Board will clean this river and make it a river that we take pride in. My younger brother Kapil has told me that he will send us a comprehensive plan based on DJB’s plans, MoWR’s plans and inputs from several international universities. I will ensure that the plan he submits is supported by the Government of India."
The Delhi Government's Water Minister and Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, Kapil Mishra said, " I am thankful to Uma didi for showing great leadership to clean River Yamuna. The Delhi Government under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal Ji will ensure that River Yamuna is restored to its previous glory. We have brought water sports to Yamuna, the Yamuna Aarti and several pilot projects to test technologies on drains, which are a key factor of polluting Yamuna. This Yamuna Action Plan-3 will be the first plan to comprehensively help with sewage treatment and solid waste management along with bringing a proper Chhat Ghat for devotees. In the next 30 days, DJB will submit a comprehensive Yamuna cleaning plan to CM Arvind Kejriwal ji and Uma didi, who I know, both have the commitment and will to clean Yamuna. Together, we can and we will make it a reality.”
