- BIJLI BILL VIVAD SAMADHAN SCHEME EXTENDED FOR FURTHER 02 MONTHS, UP 31ST MAY 2016

The Government of NCT of Delhi, in the larger public interest, has decided that the Settlement Scheme will be extended further for a period of two Months i.e. from 01.04.2016 to 31.05.2016. No settlement shall be done after 31st May, 2016. All eligible consumers are requested to avail benefit of the scheme within the extended period.
The Government of NCT of Delhi alongwith Distribution Companies has launched the Settlement Scheme for Electricity Bill Disputes (Bijli Bill Vivad Samadhan Scheme) for resolution of grievances of the electricity consumers for a period of one Month from 30.08.2015 to 30.09.2015.
The scheme was launched by Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi on 30.08.2015. The scheme was subsequently extended upto 31.03.2016. The scheme provides opportunity to settle following categories of electricity disputes : -
1. Direct Theft Bill Settlement
2. Meter Tampering Bill Settlement
3. Misuse/Unauthorized use of electricity
4. Scheme for disconnected consumers
5. Scheme for JJ Clusters
Distribution Companies have informed that about 68,000 (approx.) cases have been settled under this scheme so far. The public in general including many MLA’s have requested the Govt. of Delhi that the consumer may be allowed some more time to avail the benefits of the scheme.
