• Incorrect news items about shared cab services in Delhi

Attention of Delhi government has been drawn towards news items which have appeared in a section of the media that shared cab services could be stopped in the national capital.

Delhi Government takes exception to these incorrect news items and reiterates its endeavours for safe, comfortable, seamless, cheap and rapid transport model for the national capital.

Delhi Government has no plan to ban taxi sharing or car pooling and welcomes the user friendly suggestions if such options are innovated by public without compromising on women safety, service levels in terms of quality, cost, comfortability, integrating with last mile connectivity or mass transport.

Delhi Government will come out for all possible robust models of mobility including pedestrians and public transport, organized e-rickshaw and disciplined Auto Taxi Services before this year-end.

Delhi Government strives to formulate new legislation or amendment in the existing Act / Rules by its statutory body – State Transport Authority which fall within its powers.
