Govt schools in Delhi to start Leadership programmes
- Programme announced during ‘Excellence in Education” Awards function by Dy. Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia
- Aim to inculcate leadership qualities in school children
The Delhi Government has launched a programme to inculcate and develop leadership skills among school children in the capital. Dy. Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia announced this plan during the Excellence in Education Awards function held at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Shri Sisodia stressed upon the importance of leadership skills in every individual’s life. Leadership qualities are required not just for fighting elections, although that is good. But more important, Shri Sisodia, said is to develop skills that will help an individual to set the pace in his or her own life. Many who are not in charge of their own lives discover that their lives are being led by someone else.
Shri Sisodia said that we want our children to inculcate leadership qualities wherever they go in life, whether they join some profession or start a business. They should be able to provide leadership to society in case there is such a need in the future. They should be able to lead the nation if the nation needs them.
The Dy. Chief Minister added, “In our first year we focused on educational infrastructure. In the second year, we devoted our energy to providing international level training to teachers. These activities will continue. But now in our third year, we will focus on making learning more creative and productive. I believe that when a student leaves school he should know more than what he has read in the books. A creative spirit and self-confidence are more important than academic learning. More important than the syllabus is the ability to study textbooks with confidence.
The proposed Leadership Programme will be introduced in a few select schools and gradually expanded to include every school in Delhi.

सरकारी स्कूलों में चलेगा लीडरशिप प्रोग्राम

- बच्चों के अंदर लीडरशिप क्वालिटी विकसित करने के मकसद से चलेगा ये प्रोग्राम
हर बच्चे के अंदर लीडरशिप क्वालिटी विकसित करने के मकसद से दिल्ली सरकार अब अपने सरकारी स्कूलों में लीडरशिप प्रोग्राम शुरू कराएगी। त्यागराज स्टेडियम में आयोजित‘एक्सिलेंस इन एजुकेशन अवार्ड’ फंक्शन में मंगलवार को दिल्ली के उप-मुख्यमंत्री और शिक्षा मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने ये बात कही।
उन्होंने कहा कि हर इनसान को अपनी जिंदगी में लीडरशिप क्वालिटी की जरूरत होती है। लीडरशिप की जरूरत सिर्फ देश या समाज को लीड करने के लिए ही नहीं चाहिए बल्कि हर इंसान को अपनी जिंदगी लीड करने के लिए इसकी जरूरत होती है। अगर इनसान खुद को लीड नहीं कर पाता तो बाजार,राजनीति और समाज की अच्छी बुरी-ताकतें उसे अपने हिसाब से ढालने लगती हैं। इसके अलावा कोई व्यक्ति चाहे नौकरी करे या बिजनेस चलाए,हर किसी को लीडरशिप क्वालिटी की जरूरत होती है। यहां लीडरशिप क्वालिटी का मतलब सिर्फ चुनाव लड़ने वाली नहीं,चुनाव भी लड़ें,वो भी अच्छी बात है लेकिन सबसे पहले जरूरी है कि अपनी जिंदगी को लीड करने वाली क्वालिटी विकसित हो। अभी तक वो अपनी जिंदगी लीड नहीं कर पाता,उसकी जिंदगी कोई और लीड कर रहा होता है।
मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि हम चाहते हैं कि हमारे बच्चे आगे जाकर चाहे जहां नौकरी करें,बिजनेस करें,वहां एक लीडर के रूप में खड़े रहें। भविष्य में अगर समाज में जरूरत पड़े तो समाज को लीड कर सकें। देश को जरूरत पड़े तो देश को लीड कर सकें। हम अपने बच्चों के अंदर ऐसी खूबियां विकसित करना चाहते हैं।
शिक्षा मंत्री ने ये भी कहा, “हमने पहले साल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर फोकस किया। दूसरे साल टीचर्स की बेहतरीन और इंटरनेशनल ट्रेनिंग पर काम किया। ये काम आगे भी चलते रहेंगे। और अब तीसरे साल हमारा फोकस होगा कि हम लर्निंग आउटकम को और क्रिएटिव बनाएं। इसका मकसद ये है कि अगर एक बच्चा पढ़ कर निकले तो वो केवल किताबी ज्ञान लेकर न जाए। उसके अंदर की क्रिएटिविटी और उसका कान्फिडेंस उसके किताबी ज्ञान से ज्यादा हो। सिलेबस से ज्यादा जरूरी है कि बच्चा कॉन्फिडेंस के साथ अपनी टेक्स्टबुक पढ़ सके और अच्छे से इंटरैक्ट कर सके।“
लीडरशिप प्रोग्राम शुरुआत में पायलट के तौर पर कुछ स्कूलों में शुरू किया जाएगा। बाद में इस प्रोग्राम को हर स्कूल में चलाया जाएगा।
