- DoE has issued stern directions to Presidium School over violations of several norms
The Department of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi, has issued stern directions to Presidium School, Dwarka, Sector 16B, over violations of several norms set by the DoE.
DoE has asked the school to follow the orders under sub section (3) of section 24 of Delhi School Education Act. The DoE acted against the school after it received complaints of arbitrary decisions taken by the schools over fee hike etc.
The DoE in its directions has asked the school to comply with the directions issued by the DDE on determination of fees from the academic session 2009-10 to 2015-16, class-wise from entry class onwards, afresh, in accordance with the orders and guidelines issued by the Directorate from time to time, and to refund the excess fee already charged from the parents.
The complaint said that the school was not having a Parent Teacher Association. The directorate has asked the School to constitute the Parent Teacher Association in accordance with the rules set by the Directorate.
The Presidium School has also been advised by the directorate to not to increase fee/tuition fee for academic session 2016-17 without the prior approval of the Director (Education) as the school is built on DDA land. The direction also asks the school to refund/adjust the increased fee, if any charged/collected from the parents and submit the proposal for fee/tuition fees in accordance with the order of the directorate.
The compliant said that the school hiked fees in an arbitrary manner. The hikes were different for different classes and were more than the set limit of hike.
