• Deputy CM orders termination of three teachers and suspension of three others of the same school
• Students complained of physical violence, abusive behaviour and neglect of studies to the Deputy CM during his surprise inspection

Following complaints of beating up of school children, hurling repeated abuses at them and not teaching them properly, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Mr Manish Sisodia has ordered termination of services of three teachers and suspension of three others of a government school in Delhi.

During a surprise inspection of special classes during the ongoing summer vacation at Lajpat Nagar’s Shahid Hamukalani Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya, children of classes IX and XII had complained to Mr Sisodia about these shocking incidents earlier this week.

When Mr Sisodia began interacting with the students of classes IX and XII, the students gave indications of the unacceptable behaviour of these teachers and a continuous neglect of studies. Continuing the interaction, Mr Sisodia asked the teachers and the Principal to leave the classroom so that students could express their views without any fear.

In the following one hour, the students narrated their experiences and named two teachers who repeatedly indulged in physical violence against them and used abusive language.

Class XII students stated they were unable to understand whatever was being taught to them in Physics, since no practical classes were being held.

Services of a TGT Science teacher, a TGT social science teacher and a PGT Physics lecturer have been terminated and a TGT Hindi teacher, a lecturer of accounts and vice-principal of the school have been placed under suspension.
Mr Sisodia directed the principal and teachers to treat the students with affection and sensitivity. He said attempts to browbeat children would be completely counter-productive and they would stop respecting the elders.

Mr Sisodia said it is the duty of students to respect their teachers but that would only be possible if students were treated with affection.

नई दिल्ली। बच्चों की पिटाई करने, उनसे गाली-गलौच और ठीक से न पढ़ाने का मामला सामने आने के बाद दिल्ली के उप-मुख्यमंत्री और शिक्षा मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने एक ही स्कूल के तीन शिक्षकों को नौकरी से निकालने और तीन को सस्पेंड करने के निर्देश जारी किये हैं। मामला लाजपत नगर के शहीद हेमूकलानी सर्वोदय बाल विद्यालय का है जहां उप-मुख्यमंत्री गर्मी की छुट्टियों में चल रही स्पेशल क्लासेस का जायजा लेने पहुंचे थे।
टीजीटी साइंस लखपत सिंह, टीजीटी सोशल साइंस तसलीम अहमद, पीजीटी फिजिक्स एम.एस. रावत को नौकरी से निकालने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। जबकि वाइस प्रिंसिपल अंसार अहमद और एकाउंट्स के लेक्चरर सीताराम और टीजीटी हिंदी दिनेश कुशवाहा को सस्पेंड कर दिया गया है।

अपनी सरप्राइज विजिट के दौरान उप-मुख्यमंत्री ने स्पेशल क्लासेस लेने आए 9वीं और 12वीं के विद्यार्थियों से चर्चा शुरू की, तो कई तरह की शिकायतें दबी जबान में सामने आईं। इसके बाद शिक्षा मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने शिक्षकों और प्रधानाचार्य को क्लास से बाहर जाने को कहा और छात्रों से अकेले में करीब 1 घंटे तक खुलकर बातचीत की। 9वीं के बच्चों ने एक-एक करके अपने दुख-दर्द बताने शुरू किए। बच्चों ने दो शिक्षकों का बाकायदा नाम लेकर बताया कि वे गाली देते हैं और पीटते भी हैं। वहीं, 12वीं के बच्चों ने बताया कि फिजिक्स के टीचर का पढ़ाया हुआ उन्हें बिलकुल समझ नहीं आता। वह कभी प्रैक्टिकल नहीं कराते। शिक्षा मंत्री ने बाद में प्रधानाचार्य और अध्यापकों से कहा कि वे क्लासरूम में बच्चों के प्रति प्रेम और आदर का भाव रखें। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर हम बच्चों को बात-बात पर धमकाने या डराने का माहौल बनाएंगे तो न बच्चे ठीक से पढ़ पाएंगे और न ही वे अपने से बड़ों का आदर करना सीख पाएंगे। उप-मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि शिक्षकों को आदर देना हर एक छात्र के लिए जरूरी है लेकिन बच्चों के साथ सम्मानित व्यवहार करना भी शिक्षक के लिए जरूरी है।
