  • Delhi govt makes hospitals aware about Biomedical waste disposal.

Shri Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister today released the booklet “Price Indices for the year 2015-16” prepared by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics. The retail prices of cereals, pulses, vegetables & fruits, oil & fats etc. are being collected on a weekly basis on a fixed date/ day by DES and furnish it to Labour Bureau, Shimla for compilation of Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers.

The increase in retail prices of essential commodities in Delhi based on Consumer Price Index for Industrial workers during the year 2015-16 remained at 4.9% which is the lowest as compared to an increase of 5.6% at National Level, 6.9% in Mumbai, 8.1% in Chennai and 5% in Kolkata. As a result of regular monitoring and market intervention from time to time by the Government, the rate of inflation based on Consumer Price Index (base year 2001 = 100) for  Industrial workers in the year 2015-16 was the lowest in NCT of Delhi as compared to other metropolitan cities and at the National level.

Details also indicate that, in the Fuel & Lights Group, Inflation rate in Mumbai was 5%, in Kolkata 4.5%, in Chennai 0.5% and 3.3% at National level against (-) 17.4% in Delhi during 2015-16. Similarly, in Transport & Communication Sub-Group, Inflation rate in Kolkata was 2.1%, in Mumbai 0.9%, no change in Chennai and 0.8% at National Level against (-) 0.5% in Delhi during 2015-16.
