- DELHI GOVERNMENT SUSPENDS ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER OF EXCISE, ENTERTAINMENT AND LUXURY TAX
- MATTER IS BEING REFERRED TO ACB FOR INITIATING CRIMINAL ACTION

In a major crackdown on corruption, the Department of vigilance, govt. of Delhi has taken a tuff action against a senior officer of Department of Excise, Entertainment and Luxury Tax, Delhi Government.
Secretary, Vigilance, Govt. of Delhi, Shri Sukesh Kumar Jain today informed that on receipt of a specific complaint against an Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Entertainment and Luxury Tax Department of Govt. of NCT of Delhi regarding corruption, the official vehicle of the officer was searched. During search, cash amounting to Rs. 50,000/- and a liquor bottle was found in the vehicle.
On being asked, no plausible explanation in this regard could be given by the officer. The Delhi Government has taken a serious view in the matter and the concerned Assistant Commissioner Excise, Entertainment and Luxury Tax Department has been placed under suspension.
Shri Jain further informed that the matter is also being referred to the Anti-Corruption Branch for initiating criminal action.
Shri Jain further clarified that if, any case of corruption is reported to the government, stringent action will be taken against the person found guilty of corruption.
