- Delhi Government reviews air quality in the foggy season as temperature dips
Environment Minister Mr Imran Hussain on Tuesday reviewed the ambient air quality position of Delhi with scientists, engineers of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and senior officials of the Department of Environment.
The Minister reviewed implementation of the directions issued by different agencies and Courts in recent past to curb air pollution.
The concentration of different pollutants especially particulates, their trend and their relation with the fog was discussed. The city average of concentration of particulate matter from 1st November, 2016 to 11th of December, 2016 was also discussed.
DPCC officials informed that there is no significant increase in the particulate matter. (Please find the trend of pollution level in last one month, which is shown in the graph attached with this press release).
Mr Hussain stressed upon the need to enhance surveillance and vigil regarding anti-air pollution measures. The Minister further stressed that since night temperature is dipping, special emphasis needs to be given to control the garbage and biomass burning.
