- DELHI GOVERNMENT PROVIDES RELIEF TO AGRICULTURISTS INCLUSION OF TUBE WELL CONNECTIONS UNDER THE BIJLI BILL VIVAD SAMADHAN SCHEME
The Department of Power, Government of NCT of Delhi had received a number of representations from public including many MLAs that the consumer of Tube Well connections may also be included under the Bijli Bill Vivad Samadhan Scheme, as the majority of such consumers belong to economically weaker sections of the society and have no source of regular income. For this reason, many of them could not pay their electricity bills. Further, electricity bills of many consumers are disputed.
In view of above, in the larger public interest, the Government of NCT of Delhi has decided to extend the scope of the ongoing Bijli Bill Samadhan Scheme to Tube Well Connections in line with ongoing scheme for JJ clusters, as a special case.
Accordingly, for such outstanding tube well bills, a lump sum payment of Rs. 250/- per month only will be charged from the date of last payment. In disconnected cases, amount will be charged on similar basis from the date of last payment till date of disconnection. In all such cases, 100% late Payment Surcharge (LPSC) will be waived off. The final amount will be recovered from the consumer in six monthly installments.
