- Speaker, Delhi Assembly condoles Shri Charti Lal Goel’s passing away
Delhi, 16 August, 2016: Shri Ram Niwas Goel, Hon’ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly, NCT of Delhi has expressed deep sorrow at the passing away of Shri Charti Lal Goel, the first Speaker of the first Legislative Assembly of Delhi.
Recalling his services as the Speaker of Assembly, Shri Goel said that the leadership provided by Shri Charti Lal ji to Vidhan Sabha in its formative years continues to inspire the institution even today. He remembered with fondness his personal association with the popular leader and lauded his services to the people of Delhi in different capacities.
Shri Ram Niwas Goel along with Shri Manish Sisodia, Hon’ble Dy Chief Minister of Delhi visited the residence of Shri Charti Lal Goel this morning and paid respects to the departed leader by placing the wreath at the mortal remains of Shri Charti Lal Goel.
Speaker and the Dy. Chief Minister offered condolences to Shir Vijay Goel, son of Shri Charti Lal Goel.
