• Delhi Assembly Lecture Series to be inaugurated on 27 June, 2016

Delhi, 25 June, 2016: The prestigious Delhi Assembly Lecture Series - yet another key initiative of Shri Ram Niwas Goel, hon’ble Speaker - is scheduled to take off on Monday, the 27th of June, 2016 at 2.30 pm. Shri P. Sainath, veteran journalist and Ramon Magsaysay awardee will deliver the inaugural lecture on “Water and Farm Crisis in India”.

The lecture series will be formally inaugurated by Shri Arvind Kejriwal, hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi. Shri Manish Sisodia, hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister will be the guest of honour at the inaugural event to be presided over by hon’ble Speaker.

The lecture series is aimed at facilitating enhanced understanding among elected representatives vis-a-vis diverse issues confronting the society. Under this series, from time to time, Legislative Assembly will be organising lectures on various subjects which will be delivered by experts/professionals from respective fields, for the benefit of Legislators. Hon’ble Speaker is of the considered view that this series will go a long way in enriching the debates in the House and enhancing the performance of Legislators.
