Delhi cabinet, in its meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister Mr Manish Sisodia on Monday passed a resolution requesting the hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to direct the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to immediately pay its outstanding tax dues of atleast Rs 1575 crore to the three Municipal Corporations.
This will facilitate immediate release of salaries to sanitation workers, teachers and doctors by the North and East Municipal Corporations.
As per the information provided by the Municipal Corporations their outstanding dues against the DDA are as follows :
1) East MCD : Outstanding dues upto the period ending 31/03/2016 is Rs 353,18,74,177
2) North MCD : It has calculated the Property Tax at around Rs 808 crore
3) South MCD : As on date, total outstanding amount against DDA is Rs 593, 08, 23,787
As per the directions of the hon’ble High Court of Delhi, series of meetings have been convened by various authorities, including the Chief Secretary on 31/10/2015, Additional Secretary, Union Urban Development Ministry on 10/11/2015 & 16/11/2015, Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Delhi Government on 27/11/2015 and finally Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi on 21/01/2016, to resolve the issue, but the DDA has not complied so far.
Therefore, the Delhi government has now requested the hon’ble LG, who is also the chairman DDA, to direct this organization to pay the long outstanding dues of the three corporations.

Please find below the amount released by successive Delhi governments under the non-plan to the three Municipal Corporations since 2012. The data also makes it clear that except the current financial year, each year, the outstanding loan was deducted from the money given to the corporations : (It is clear that the highest amount was released this year) :

PWD Minister Mr Satyendar Jain has informed that the cleaning work has been continuing round the clock since over 60 hours now.
Please find attached the data from 22 constituencies across Delhi, which had reported maximum problems of garbage piling due to the strike of sanitation workers.
The PWD officials, who have been supervising the work being done in the field by PWD and DJB workers, have reported that part from cleaning road sides, the teams have sucessfully cleaned dhalaos across these areas and disposed the garbage at designated landfill sites.
